Beautiful African artwork hanging on the orange walls greet you as you make your way in this small Ethiopian haven by the name Little Addis Cafe. A waitress carries out an interesting colourful dish to customers on a table nearby, so we ask to browse the menu. It's quite basic, with not much options to pick from but the prices look very affordable. As a major food lover i hate making bad food decisions that result in distasteful disappointments, so i order the Lamb tibs. It seems like a safe choice as the picture on the menu displayed it as a lamb stew. I was right, only its served with tomato salsa and curry powder on the side and served over a large white looking pancake which the waitress called 'injeera'. I wondered why a spoon wasn't served only to realise you're supposed to use your hands. As I dug in I was taken by taste of the injeera. 1. Waking up early. I have recently started a new morning routine of waking up earlier than I usually do in order to jump start my day, which includes exercising and preparing to conquer my day. It's amazing how waking up early and waking up with a positive attitude can do for you. I must say the first few days has been such a drag because if you know me, you know i love my sleep. But that all had to change because sleep won't give you results. 2. My pink scarf from Cotton On. I haven't worn it yet but it was love at first sight. The soft pink is what caught my eye as that's my favourite colour after white. 3. Eat Pray Love novel . If you've just come out of a relationship or are on a journey to self discovery and self love as a woman, i would really recommend you read this book. I haven't completed it as yet but it talks about a woman's journey across the world that all contribute to finding herself. I've seen the movie and it really doesn't do it

You know that moment when you log on to instagram and you try convince yourself that you've only logged on just to post your recent pic and log out. But then you find yourself on Leratos friends cousin cousins feed, stalking people who don't even know you exist. That was me at 10pm, its almost midnight now. According to instagram most of you have very interesting fun lives and expensive taste. I wonder why I didn't get the memo to such a life... Anyway here's a list of 5 of my favourite South African female instagrammers. @ kefilwemabote I dont think theres any pic that I don't like on kefilwe's feed. Her style is so impeccable. She exudes of elegance and class. I'm always reminded of the woman I'd like to be whenever I browse through her posts. @ sbahle_mpisane Look at that body. No like really look at it. Isnt she just amazing. This fitness bunny, or atleast thats what she calls herself literally inspires me to go to the gym everytime I come across her

The #MenAreTrash has probably appeared on my Twitter timeline about a million times since last year. With so many men defending themselves and trying to justify as to why they’re not trash. Some even going to the lengths of trying to turn the blame on women by claiming women themselves are trash or that women are the reason they’re trash, as if women aren’t blamed enough by society. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to promote this logic that men are indeed trash because of the fact that I’m a woman. No, I’m just merely trying to shed some light as to why so many women may feel men are trash. From the beginning of time women have been and are still victims of patriarchy. We literally get blamed for so many things whilst being the victim. It has become so bad that we are even literally blamed for putting ourselves in situations that trigger men to act violently and selfishly. I don’t use the word ‘selfishly’ loosely as the actions involved do indeed display inconsiderate behaviour towa

It has been four days into the new month and i cant help but feel somewhat sad that the month of April has come to an end. Besides the fact that it was my birthday month, i got to do and discover so many amazing things. Talk about entering into the new chapter of my life with a whole new perspective. One of the few amazing things I got to do besides the horse riding experience (which I shared in my previous post) was that I got the opportunity to visit a very luxurious spa in Houghton, Johannesburg for my birthday. Upon arrival we were met by a friendly lady who told us to wait at reception for our masseuse who introduced herself and told us more about the day spa. She was very lovely and professional, it was too hard not to like her. After changing into our robes we were led to the relaxation lounging area where we had to fill out a form that would help inform them more about our problem areas. The place really exceeded my expectation. Its clean with modern day architecture and a litt

One of my goals for 2017 was that I would get out of my comfort zone. Do things I have never done before instead of watching life pass me by. I mean how many times have you scrolled through peoples instagram feeds watching them post beautiful pictures about how they live their lives or even heard others share stories about the amazing places they have been in their lifetime. I don't know about you but I got tired of that. I also want to have a story to tell... Horses have always been a huge fascination of mine. I find them to be such majestic creatures. Besides their strong, firm built i find their intelligent capabilities to be so intriguing. So its of no suprise that I decided to go horse riding as it's one of the few things I have never done before. It was actually something that had been on my bucket list so i finally took the initiative to do it. We drove about 15 minutes into a secluded farm place before we could get to our location, Sa horse trails. It stretched out into
